The Road to Sustainability in Absorbent Hygiene Products Travels through Softness
Today, disposable AHP such as baby diapers, feminine hygiene products, and adult incontinence are made of various kinds of polymer materials that often are not compatible with each other. These multi-material products create the need for complicated separation processes reducing the efficiency and output of possible recycling streams. Using design for recycle, we’re working towards creating a more “mono” material design that can simplify the recycling process and improve the chances of recyclability.
This talk will introduce the concept of Extreme PE Diaper, and demonstrate how polyethylene can be used in each component of a diaper, bringing ultimate softness and improved sustainability for AHP one step closer.
