Chemical, material and finished product manufacturers, retailers, consumers and investors concerned with the impact of their products and communicating their benefits are broadening their focus to the entire supply chain and to many attributes of sustainability. As a result, clear sustainability metrics for ingredients and products, developed with industry input; resources to assess ingredients, products and practices for sustainability; and robust third-party certifications that recognize levels of achievement are becoming increasingly important to evaluate, improve and market ingredients and products.

This presentation will review the major third-party certifications relevant to the hygiene products industry, along with their scope, assessment practices, market penetration, and consumer awareness. Certifications covered with include Leaping Bunny, Eco-Cert, Cosmos, EU Flower, Nordic Swan and Cradle to Cradle Certified.
